Enter all assets held for one full lunar year — Zakat is 2.5% of your net wealth
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is a compulsory act of worship requiring every Muslim whose wealth exceeds a minimum threshold (Nisab) to give 2.5% of their qualifying wealth each lunar year to those in need.
The Quran mentions Zakat alongside Salah over 30 times. It is not optional charity — it is a divine obligation and a right that the poor have over those with wealth.
“Islam is built on five pillars: bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, establishing prayer, paying Zakat, performing Hajj, and fasting in Ramadan.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim
Assets subject to Zakat include cash, savings, gold, silver, investments, shares, cryptocurrency, business stock, and money owed to you. Your primary home, personal car, and everyday belongings are not subject to Zakat.
The Quran specifies eight categories of eligible Zakat recipients (Surah At-Tawbah 9:60): the poor, the needy, Zakat administrators, new Muslims, those in bondage, debtors, those striving in Allah’s cause, and stranded travellers.
Al Firdous distributes your Zakat to eligible recipients across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Gaza, and other regions — funding food, clean water, education, and orphan care.
